New offering helps brokers meet market demand for railroad contractors with broader account solutions and added flexibility

SAN DIEGO, May 6, 2026 — Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc., an Arrowhead Programs company, today announced the expansion of its Railroad Program to include workers’ compensation coverage for railroad contractors. The enhancement is designed to help brokers respond to evolving market conditions and client needs with a stronger all-lines solution for this class of business.

The workers’ compensation line is available to eligible railroad contractors, subject to favorable experience and minimum premium requirements. It also provides added flexibility through return-to-work programs and payroll billing options, helping brokers address a broader range of client needs through a single program.

“We’re adding workers’ compensation because we understand the current marketplace for this business and the needs of clients,” said Anne Marie Castelli, railroad program manager at Arrowhead General. “By bringing workers’ compensation into an already strong offering, we’re helping simplify placement, strengthen long-term account management and deliver greater value.”

For more than 25 years, Arrowhead General’s Railroad Program has helped brokers deliver specialized protection to contractors, manufacturers and wholesalers serving the railroad industry. Backed by The Hartford, the program is one of the few admitted solutions available in this niche market, with competitive pricing, flexible billing options and experienced claims and risk control support.

“This enhancement allows us to deliver a more complete and competitive solution for railroad contractors and the brokers who serve them.”

With the addition of workers’ compensation, Arrowhead General’s Railroad Program now includes General Liability, Commercial Auto, Property, Inland Marine, Railroad Protective Liability and Umbrella coverages. The program also provides automatic protection for work performed within 50 feet of railroad tracks and is available in 47 states, excluding Alaska, Hawaii and Louisiana.

“Adding workers’ compensation to our Railroad Program is a natural evolution of our commitment to supporting brokers and their clients in this highly specialized space,” said Tandy Fitts, chief underwriting officer at Arrowhead General. “Railroad contractors face unique and complex exposures, and with decades of experience in this segment, we understand how critical it is for coverage to align with real-world risks. This enhancement allows us to deliver a more complete and competitive solution for railroad contractors and the brokers who serve them.”
